(Do I look exactly the same or what?  Maybe a few more wrinkles…)

For the past 40 years I have been busy.  I graduated from Grove City College in 1977 and went to visit my sister in D.C. for a week or so and have been in the area ever since.

First I became a CPA and worked in a local public accounting firm for 8+ years when I “retired” after having twin boys.  Two years later we had another boy (and yes it is difficult to be the only female in the house).  I met my husband at work and continued to help out during tax season preparing returns from home.  I believe I was the first telecommuter!

When not doing tax returns, volunteering or running the boys to one practice or another I started quilting.  As my husband puts it –“it’s my therapy”.  Before I knew it, the boys didn’t demand so much of my time, so now what?   I went back to school, this time to George Washington University for a Masters in Art History.  Finished my degree just as the market tanked and museums could not afford to hire anyone.  After two years of volunteer work I finally got a contract to work part time at the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery in the Exhibitions Department.

My husband, Lee, still works at the accounting firm where we met.  One of the twins, Josh, is pursuing a PhD in theoretical physics at Michigan State University and his twin, Mark, just finished his Masters of Science in Accounting at James Madison University (following in his parents’ footsteps).  Danny will begin his senior year at NYU’s Stern School of Business and will be captain of the NYU swim team.
