Joined
the Army Reserves in 1972. Continuing education
at Ft McClellan, AL to Ft Polk, LA to Ft Ben Harrison, IN 1973. Here is
my past in abbreviated terms. Highlights when they occurred.
1974 Jacksonville, FL to West Palm Beach, FL 1975; 1976 Ft Meade, MD (by
Baltimore and DC); 1977 Ft Gillem, GA (outside
Atlanta); 1981 Ft Sheridan, IL north of Chicago right on the Lake… brrr.
1983 Married to my
soul mate at Great Lakes Naval Training Center. Late 1984 we moved back to Ft Gillem. Nick was Regular Army but in 1986 I left Active
Duty and Nick was promoted to First Sergeant and took over the Marietta
Recruiting Company. I went to work for Hewlett-Packard as an Executive
Assistant.
1990 Called back to
Active Duty for Desert Storm for three months in Alexandria, VA. Spent Jan to Mar before returning to Power Springs in April.
Then on Memorial Day weekend, as I was coming home from work at HP, I had a
life changing head-on collision which bothers me to this day. Only silver
lining to this accident was it kept me from going to Saudi Arabia.
1992 Left HP to work
with my husband full time. He was doing professional speaking and consulting.
He wrote his first book “Finding the Magnetic Leader Within – Moving from
Personal Chaos to Personal Peace.” Nick took an acting class and made
a friend who recommended we become extra’s for the TV show In the Heat of
the Night. Had two directors that I recognized out of the four shows I did.
Dick Martin directed my first episode and Larry Hagman
directed another. It was the very last season for the show so if you see Carl
Weathers at the Chief of Police, then you might see my backside or side view.
1998 we left Atlanta,
GA and moved to Orlando, FL. We continued on with the speaking and consulting
business until 2008. Nick decided to slow down on the travel so he got us
involved in LegalShield℠. I was sticking
closer to home since 2002 when my father-in-law moved to Florida. I became his
care giver until we lost him in 2010. For Christmas that year, we decided to
visit my parents before we went to a convention and soon realized my job as
care giver was calling me to Sun City, AZ. We packed up and made the trek
across country with seven cats in tow. We moved into a home less than a mile
from my parent’s home which has turned into a great decision as they were both
recently admitted into the hospital. One for pneumonia and the other for bronchitis.
For 87, they are doing remarkably well. Soon, my mother will be very happy
because her third daughter is preparing to move to Scottsdale from Miami Beach.
Nick continues to
work on his next book, “Where the Hell did America Go?” It’s not a
political book. It’s more about getting our values back. We continue working to
help people get access to the legal system with selling LegalShield
memberships as everyone needs access but few can afford to pay the high hourly
rates. LegalShield is doing to the legal system what
HMO’s do for medical coverage. If anyone want to know more about our service,
visit www.glbnow.com to see what we do.
Also, like insurance brokers, we look for people that want to do this business
on a part-time, full-time, any-time business so visit www.gwpnow.com to learn about the business
aspect.
Nick and I never had
children. The cats are my kids. He has two girls and one boy from two previous
marriages. His son has two children so I have enjoyed being a grandmother but
his divorce has left us out with the grandkids. Enough said.
