After high school, I attended Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service, graduating in 1976. At GU, I met Mark Meyer while playing in a contract bridge tournament. As I graduated, I passed the Foreign Service exams, but decided to attend MIT and get a Master's degree in Finance instead. But the more important decision I made was to marry Mark in 1979. Since then, Mark and I have lived in Michigan -- where we had season tickets to U of M football games for a few years.
In the mid-1980's, we moved to Hoboken, NJ where we eventually bought a 100+ year old brownstone. Over the past 20 years, we were blessed with three children -- and along the way renovated our brownstone. We have learned a lot about educating children in a challenging urban location, while both working full time. The children have now grown up, finished college, and all happen to work in Texas.
I still work in finance in mid-town Manhattan and hope to do so for a few more years. May 2012 we all visited Norway.
