2022 - 50th - Update

Things finally did settle down - I did sell my house in Falmouth and bought one in Buzzards Bay. I call it my farm house as it reminds me of one. There even was a very old, ratty 2 horse barn that I did tear down. My farm house is a fixer - upper but cozy and I like it. So I am doing a lot of things to the house but it is on my schedule, so much nicer and less stressful than on other's schedule.

OOPS -- I did gain some of my weight loss back but now I can get back to it!

Feb. 2021 - I changed jobs and I am now the Night Auditor at AutoCamp.

March 2021 - I got a kitten for Morris - Sapphire. He is a all cat! Morris is so much happier now that he has a buddy.

March 2022 - I did finally retire! I am so excited! Two things I found immediately - One it has been very hard to change my sleep and eating schedule back to normal (from graveyard shift work) - Two it feels wonderful but weird that I don't have to get up every day by an alarm clock and I can do whatever I want whenever I want! By the way - turning off all the alarm clocks was the first thing I did when I retired.

May 2022 - My life is all day pulling ivy and working on the MtL Logbook Website. That's pretty much it as it takes up about 12 hours a day.

2022 - 50th

I did move to Massachusetts about 7 years ago and now live in the parent's retirement home with my 1 cat Morris. I work as a night auditor at the Holiday Inn and won't retire until I am 70.

I have many of the same hobbies and keep busy with them. Right now I am concentrating on genealogy, photography, computer programming and started watching baking shows of all things.

Daughter is now 29 and stayed in Georgia and has been a Deputy Sheriff about 9 years now and loves it.

Oh I am no longer 'extra-puffy' as I decided to do something about it and lost 68 pounds! So happy about that!

Now I am selling my house & also looking to buy.

I can't wait until everything settles down again, it has been a been a very busy time for me.

2012 - 40th

Off to Lexington, KY where I graduated from University of Kentucky on the five year – I’m free – plan. Freedom to do what I wanted, and I did, everything but study. But I did graduate with a concentration in Anthropology. My favorite subject but no real jobs so:

Off to Knoxville, TN where I spent about 8 years in the hotel business, going from cocktail waitress to Night Auditor / Front Desk Manager then:

Off I went to Philadelphia, PA where I spent about 13 years which about 7 years was working in accounting-type work. I stayed with my Aunt Jean (MtL 1952 grad). Eventually I was laid off. I took the B’nai B’rith Career tests and they said that I either would want to be an architect or a computer programmer. Luckily Dad knew both fields and said computer programming was the way to go, so:

Off I went to Control Data Institute where I got a Computer Programmer / Operations technical school certificate. Finally a serious student, I got straight A’s. I worked about 5 years in programming, got married, had a daughter by the skin of my teeth – Lisa Walnut, born in Norristown, PA and her first home was on Walnut Springs Court then:

Off to Atlanta, GA where I spent about 16 years which for 5 years I was a stay at home Mom, Girl Scout Leader, took Kickboxing, Karate, & became a Certified Personal Trainer. I was in the best shape at 46 since high school.

Some negatives – got divorced (actually a yeah!), was conned, and lastly my house was not only upside-down, but worth less than I bought it – so short sold it.

But also during this time found a job, lost my job, went back to school and got an Associates in Accounting in 1 year – and still a serious student – so again straight A’s. And then found a job of all places – Craigslist - at InTown Suites as a Revenue Auditor.

Daughter now 19, just shy of her 3rd degree black belt at Pil Sung Do, will graduate from Kennesaw State University in 2013 (2 years early) with a Criminal Justice degree, and has had a job for 4+ years now. Proud Mom!

My hobbies–

Collecting playing dice
     dicedame

Programming (mostly websites now), a few of mine:
     MtL 1972 Logbook
     dicedame
     naures

Genealogist (42 years) & on ancestry.com
Handwriting Analysis (working on becoming certified)
Origami, counted cross stitch, machine quilts, macramé, to name a few
& I always have had my pets & plants where ever I go.

Still like kickboxing, karate & weight lifting, but my excuses are – costs too much, don’t have 3 hours a day anymore, don’t like doing it alone, can’t find a good kickboxing class anymore, arthritis, & easier to relax after work & enjoy all my sit-down hobbies. So:

Needless to say I am not only happy but now ‘extra-puffy’.

Now I want to move to Massachusetts to spend time with my parents (Mom a MtL 1948 grad) in their golden years. In June I will be going to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary.
