2012 - 40th I have always said,”better late than never!” Fellow classmate Steve Jones has reminded me, Don’t be left out, so I will register today. If it is not too late for a short Bio, here goes…….After Mt. Lebo 72 Chapter 1: I graduated University Pittsburgh, with a Civil Engineering degree. Summer of 1976, rode 4000 miles of Bike Centennial Trail from Atlantic Ocean to Pacific Ocean, ( I was an early Bicycle for Life activist, but would be quite embarrassed to admit how little I have biked since ) Spent my first 5 years with U S Steel, central engineering, in Pittsburgh and attended Pitt night school to earn a MS in Operations Research. I married a fellow Pitt Pharmacy Alum, Donna Mauro in 77 and am very pleased to say, still happily married 35 years later. In 1981 the fun began, transferring to U S Steel International, in Houston Texas, with a focus on marketing Oil Field Products (Drilling Rigs, Production Pumps, Tubular products) worldwide. Traveling to China 30 years ago, Saudi Arabia, India, Colombia, Vietnam, Pakistan, and to the USSR before the end of the Cold War are the kind of Life Time memories you cannot appreciate when you’re there, but later cannot believe how deep and remote you actually were. It exposed me to the world’s multi cultures in many aspects, commercially, socially, and spiritually. Anyway, after eight more years or so, a Corporate Merger with National Supply, Armco Division, and Marathon, in Houston, Texas, combined with starting a family, (daughter Christina, and a son Harold ), we felt maybe it was time to come back to Western Pennsylvania, ( it truly must be a Burgh Thing! ) Chapter 2: For twenty plus years I have joined efforts with three brothers in the “Family Business”, Hall Industries, a Design Engineering and Manufacturing Company, headquartered in Ellwood City, PA. The joke amongst the brothers, since my father Harold, who turned 90 this year, is still at work at 7:00 AM every day, is that we’re probably going to be 100 years old, still showing up here every day, if we are so fortunate! For anyone so interested, they can check out Chapter 2 in detail, hallindustries.com As for my personal greatest accomplishment: The attached photo proudly shows my first grandchild, Clair Elizabeth Hall. My son Harold, now with Hall Industries, and his wife Jamie Stone Hall, formerly of USC, have chosen Mount Lebanon to call home. So, I proudly introduce Clair Elizabeth Hall to the Lebo Nation, future Lebo Grad, class of 2028! |
