2022 - 50th After leaving Mt. Lebanon, I continued my education at Slippery Rock University and graduated in December 1975 with a degree in Health and Physical Education. While at SRU, I competed on the Women’s Gymnastics Team and was an assistant coach for one season while I was a graduate assistant. After student teaching in the Blackhawk School District in Beaver County, I was hired at their High School Health and Physical Education teacher. I also coached gymnastics, volleyball, and track and field for the next 7 years until I was furloughed. I was fortunate to then pick up a job in the Riverside Beaver County School District teaching and coaching. I completed my degree in Middle School Math and eventually switched from teaching P.E. to Middle school Math for about the last 10 years of my career. I married in 1975 and moved to Fombell, PA before my final semester of college, then waited 10 years to have our first of 2 children (both boys). We were both busy coaching and teaching during those 10 years. I moved from coaching to officiating gymnastics. Now I enjoy watching my granddaughter compete in the sport. I began enjoying distance running and completed almost 20 marathons while in my 40’s until I broke my patella on a training run. 10 years later, and a knee replacement, we now enjoy walking and hiking, and exploring the National Parks. I am also involved in a community choir and hand bell choir in our community of Zelienople. My other passion is sewing and quilting and I do longarm quilting for others out of our home. I am looking forward to seeing everyone. The last reunion I attended was our 25th. |
