2012 - 40th After high school I attended Ohio University for a couple of years. After the second year of OU, I married and moved to Madison Wisconsin then Madison Florida. After that stint, we move back to Pittsburgh. Since the job market for a 2 year physics major is zero, I enrolled in technical school and got an associate degree in mechanical drafting and design. During this time, my husband moved to Los Angeles where I followed after I was done with school. Started working for a recording disk head company (remember the floppy disk?) as a draftsman then a manufacturing engineer. Changed jobs and became a design engineer for an aerospace filter company. During my stay in the LA area I had two wonderful children, a boy and a girl. We stayed in CA for 10 years until my husband got offered a job in Chicago. We moved to suburbia, I stopped working and concentrated on the kids and started getting into acrylic and oil painting. We were transferred a couple of times and wound up back in Chicago. With the kids in high school, I went back to school and got a BFA in multimedia communications. Went back to work for an Internet consulting firm until the internet bust and my company went bankrupt. By this time the kids were in college and my husband traveled quite a bit so I started joining him in his travels. After a few years, he changed jobs a couple of times and our marriage dissolved. I’ve been fortunate to travel both nationally and internationally and have seen very interesting places. I’ve been working through my “wish list”, one being a trip this winter to Cuba with Joe Scarpaci’ s group. |
