2022 - 50th After High School Graduation in 1972, I attended Purdue University with the intent on getting a degree in Home Economics (interior design). After realizing that I had about zero talent in that field I switched to business and graduated in 1976 from Purdue’s Krannert business school with an emphasis in finance. I got a job at Westinghouse (in Pittsburgh) as a project planner and eventually worked my way into the finance field there and worked there until 2012. I really loved working at Westinghouse…the people were great and I really enjoyed all of the various finance jobs that I worked in. I got married in 1978 to an engineer that I met at Westinghouse (no surprise there!) and we have 1 son who graduated from Penn State (PhD in engineering) and is working in Maryland. My husband and I ‘retired’ from Westinghouse in 2012. I never really adjusted to retirement and got another job at Honeywell for about 2 years. Then we started spending the winters in Arizona but I still got some contract jobs for a few summers at BNY Mellon. I guess we are really retired now and not sure what we will do for phase 2 of retirement. I really enjoyed our 40th and 45th reunions and looking forward to the 50th (yikes)! |
