2012 - 40th We have NOT been out of High School for 40 years! I’m not 40 yet, am I?? Out of Lebo, I attended Indiana University of PA. A “Betty Barbara Sipe homeroom classmate”, Diane Martin, was my roommate. Became a member of Alpha Sigma Tau Sorority. Graduated with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Home Economics Education. Taught for a year at Washington High School, PA. Went back to IUP on a Grad Assistantship and earned my Masters in Education in Human Development and the Family. Married my High School Sweetheart, Dave Criner and moved to Lancaster PA. We’ve been married for 34 years! Taught Middle School in Ephrata PA, and we had 3 children while living there. That’s when I started cooking Amish. Dave took a job in Northern Maine, Dover-Foxcroft to be exact where we stayed for 3.5 years. Loved the people and the wilderness. That’s where I started cooking Lobsters. Moved back to Pittsburgh into Upper St. Clair. I taught Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS – the new Home Ec) at Chartiers Valley Middle School and am now teaching at Boyce Middle School in Upper St. Clair – my dream job. Actually had a cooking show on the local USC TV channel. Also currently on the teaching team for the Earthwarden Program- environmental education program for 6th graders. Our 3 children all live in Pittsburgh, an interior designer daughter, a graphic designer son and a Spanish speaking daughter who works at UPMC Children’s Hospital. Downsized from Upper St. Clair in 2007, we now live in Dormont and summer back in Dover-Foxcroft Maine on Lake Sebec…where I am writing this right now. (Yes Paul, you aren’t the only Maine lover in the class of 72!) Lots of Volunteer work through out the years…currently on the Board of Friends of Dormont Pool and Treasurer of the PA Association of Family and Consumer Sciences. Two of the kids are getting married in 2012; the first wedding is the weekend before the reunion: the second the Saturday before Christmas! To sum it up, I am living the dream…summers on a lake, love my job, all the kids live 10 minutes away and all are employed! Can’t wait to see everyone in October. |
