JAMES MARTIN THOMAS 58, passed away Friday, November 22, 2013. James was born December 3, 1954 in Lakewood, Ohio to Robert and Patricia Thomas. James graduated from Mt. Lebanon High School in Pittsburgh, PA and went on to receive a BS in Accounting from Miami University of Ohio. He took pride in working as an employee benefits consultant for Principal Financial Group. He also enjoyed exploring the great outdoors through camping and hiking, and passed on this passion through his long-standing commitment to the Boy Scouts of America. In his spare time, James could be found playing his guitar and listening to classic rock music or rooting for his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers. James is survived by his daughter, Julia (Brian) Brinkley; son, Nathaniel (Morgan) Thomas; four grandchildren, Ryan, Abigail, Katherine, and Jack; his mother, Patricia; sister, Elizabeth (Jon) Holzheimer; and brother, Lawrence. He leaves behind his extended family, many dear friends and colleagues. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert. A memorial visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, December 20, 2013 at MONREAL FUNERAL HOME, 35400 Curtis Blvd., Eastlake, Ohio.
