Vockel, John Eby died on Saturday, January 13, 2001. John Eby Vockel, 46, of Hayward, CA, beloved husband of Lorna J. Vockel; father of Mark David Moffitt of New York, NY and Grant Edwin Vockel of Hayward; son of Carol and Stewart Vockel of Pittsburgh, PA; brother of Stewart Vockel III, Margaret V. Harris, James Vockel, and Sarah V. Poling. Mr. Vockel, a native of Mt. Lebanon, graduated from Mt. Lebanon High School in 1972 and Lafayette College, Easton, PA as a Distinguished Military ROTC graduate, served in the US Army Military Intelligence Corps and received an Honorable Discharge with the rank of Major. Mr. Vockel's business career included positions with Ford Aerospace and Loral/Rolm in California. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 18, in Hayward, CA.
